Lighthouse University Names Prof. Imianvan as First Vice-Chancellor
Imianvan's educational background includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Benin, and a PhD from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
The Board of Trustees of Lighthouse University, located in Evbuobanosa, Edo State, has announced the appointment of Anthony Agboizebeta Imianvan as the pioneer vice-chancellor of the university. The announcement was made in a statement issued by the university’s directorate of information.
Prof. Imianvan, a professor of Computer Science with research interests in artificial intelligence, software engineering, programming, and biomedical computing, previously headed the Department of Computer Science at the University of Benin from 2017 to 2018. He has over 70 publications in local and international journals and has served as an external examiner and assessor for various universities.
Lighthouse University, a privately-owned institution along the Benin-Agbor Expressway in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, recently received approval from the Federal Government of Nigeria to operate as a full-fledged university. Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Felix Omobude, emphasized the institution's commitment to fostering innovation and empowering scholars.
Omobude welcomed Imianvan, acknowledging his previous contributions to Lighthouse Polytechnic and his role in securing the university’s approval. He pledged support to Imianvan in achieving the university's vision of providing hands-on solutions to societal challenges while upholding moral and spiritual values.
