MAAUN Commemorates World Lupus Day with Expert Insights

Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) recently commemorated World Lupus Day in collaboration with Lupus Aid Foundation. The event, held at the School of Health Sciences, featured expert presentations and discussions on the disease.

Medical experts from Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) shared insights on lupus, its symptoms, treatment, and the need for continuous awareness campaigns. The university's president emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the disease, which is often misunderstood by the general public.

The Dean of the School of Nursing Sciences described lupus as a complex disease, urging patients to seek immediate diagnosis and treatment. Other experts called for adequate support for affected individuals and sustained awareness efforts.
