A team of inter-platoon cooks on Wednesday won a cash prize of N150,000 and two cartons of Maggi cubes in a Maggi Let's Jollof cooking competition which held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State.

A team of inter-platoon cooks on Wednesday won a cash prize of N150,000 and two cartons of Maggi cubes in a Maggi Let's Jollof cooking competition which held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State. 

Myschoolnews reports the cooking competition was between six teams comprising of different platoon members. The event also had in attendance the Camp Director, Alhaji Lawal Taofik; Head of Socials, Mr Sesan Fadeyi; the Nestle Head Chef, Mr Ude; and Mr Shoriro. 

 

In a jollof story session led by the popular Nigerian Chef Ude who serves as the Lagos Coordinator of the West African Food Festival (WAFEST), varieties of the maggi seasoning were listed. The games served as great entertainment while other cash prizes like vouchers worth N5,000, Caps and Maggi seasoning cubes were also won in the bottle flip and dance challenge. Corps Members also got the opportunity of tasting the delicacies prepared by the 6 teams and chefs. 

 

The Nestle representatives, also intimated Corps Members of job openings within the organisation and noted that they do not need any form of affiliations with company staff to access such jobs. They explained that the Nestership program is the platform that offers a one year equipping, grooming and training of young graduates, hence increasing their worth in the labour market.

 

Concluding, they mentioned the Nestle Youth Initiative and described it as a sure way of empowering and attracting youths closer to the company as they are indispensable resources for nation building.

 

DJ Funkey fresh further spiced up the atmosphere with his song selections which left camp officials dancing. Chef Ude encouraged Corps Members in regards to their service Year. He asked them to take the positive lessons and be open and adventurous with their food choice.

 

First and second runner up went home with N120,000 and N60,000 respectively with two cartons of maggi products.
