Meet MaryCynthia Osefo, who emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student in PharmD, Clinical, Hospital and Managed Care Pharmacy at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

She described walking across the stage as the Best Graduating Student of the Class of 2025 as a moment that changed her identity from MaryCynthia to the Number One Lioness, Class of 2025.

"It was a beautiful moment. Flashing cameras. People cheering. Congratulations pouring in. But what many people didn't see were the six years of hard work that led to that stage," she said.

MaryCynthia explained that the celebration is not just about the award, but about telling the story behind it to inspire younger colleagues and show them that excellence is possible.

She resumed at UNN like every other student, anxious and excited, but deep down she carried a conviction that sounded almost impossible: to graduate with all As.

That conviction shaped her journey. The library became her second home. She attended every lecture despite the stress, turned to YouTube as her lecturer when Further Mathematics became challenging, and attended tutoring classes.

And when her results came out, it was a 5.00 GPA, becoming proof that the impossible was possible.

Her roommate and she revised together regularly, helping each other master difficult concepts before examinations.

She also reached out to senior colleagues who taught her how questions were to be approached and answered. And when examinations arrived, she remained focused, giving her best to her pharmacy courses.
