Mock Accreditation Team Visits NOUN Jos Centre Ahead of NUC Exercise

A team from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) headquarters has visited the Jos Study Centre to conduct a mock accreditation exercise in preparation for the upcoming National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation later this year.

Led by Prof. Gregory Okagbare, Director of Academic Planning, the three-man team arrived at the centre and was welcomed by the Acting Centre Director, Mr. Bulama Samson Mshelia, along with other staff members.

The mock accreditation focused on two programs in the Faculty of Management Sciences: B.Sc Accounting and B.Sc Banking and Finance. During the visit, Mshelia guided the team through an assessment of the centre’s physical facilities, which the team found satisfactory.

In addition to reviewing the academic programs, the team also evaluated teaching and non-teaching staff numbers, students’ files, and other essential resources. A report of their findings will be submitted to the university management.

The team concluded their visit by addressing the staff, encouraging them to maintain diligence in their responsibilities. Other members of the team included Prof. Johnson Okoh, Head of the Department of Financial Studies, and Mr. Alhamdu Usman, Principal Assistant Registrar.
