Mr. Kunle Akogun, Director of Corporate Affairs at the University of Ilorin, has called on the newly elected Student Union Executive Committee to maintain the university's reputation as the 'Campus of Harmony.' His appeal came during a courtesy visit by the student leaders to his office.

Mr. Akogun emphasized that the University of Ilorin is renowned for its peaceful atmosphere, which is a result of the effective handling of occasional misunderstandings by both the university management and the students. He commended the students for their maturity and understanding, which contribute significantly to the institution's harmonious environment.

The Director assured the student leaders that under Vice Chancellor Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, the university operates with an open-door policy, committed to safeguarding student interests. He congratulated the new leaders on their election victories and urged them to uphold the university’s 'Better-by-far' image.

Mr. Akogun also pledged that the Directorate of Corporate Affairs would support the student union through its media platforms, including the UNILORIN Bulletin and UNILORIN FM, to foster a positive student-management relationship.

In response, Miss Rodiyah Oyeronke Adegoke, the Vice President (Main Campus), conveyed the student body’s gratitude for Mr. Akogun’s continuous support. She requested that vital information be communicated through the Public Relations Officer of the Student Union for timely dissemination on student social media channels.

The meeting also saw the participation of other Student Union Executive Council members, including Olukorede Sarah Oreoluwa (Vice President, CoHS), Adebayo Usman Adeyinka (General Secretary), Ganiyu Rahmat Bukola (Assistant General Secretary), Yunus Kamaldeen Olanrewaju (Public Relations Officer), Aminu Habeeb Abiodun (Welfare Secretary, CoHS), Ajewole Joseph Olalekan (Sports Secretary), and Obalowu Abdulsamad Alabi (Social Secretary).
