NANS Urges Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa to Fulfill Promises to Students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to fulfill his promises to students in the state, including the provision of palliatives and buses to support student unions. During a press conference in Akure, leaders of the Joint Campus Council (JCC), Ondo axis, Comrade Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua, and Comrade Oluwanishola Ajibola, expressed concerns over the delay in delivering 12 buses promised for student mobility. The buses, which were pledged to help ease transportation challenges faced by students across the state, have yet to be delivered.

While the student body acknowledged the recent approval and disbursement of bursaries and scholarships for indigenous students, they emphasized the need for the state government to address additional pressing challenges, including the rising cost of transportation due to the fuel price hike. Comrade Oluwarotimi noted that the high cost of fuel has significantly increased transportation expenses, alongside rising food and electricity costs.
