Nasarawa State Professors’ Forum Honors NSUK VC for Transformative Leadership

The Nasarawa State Professors’ Forum on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, honored the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, in recognition of her transformational leadership and developmental strides within the institution.

The event, held at the University Council Chamber, brought together distinguished professors of Nasarawa State extraction from tertiary institutions across the state, who converged to celebrate the first female indigenous Vice-Chancellor of NSUK for her exceptional contributions to academic advancement and institutional growth.

The ceremony marked another milestone in the university’s academic journey as Professor Liman, a Fellow of UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFP, CBER, FNIPR, received a prestigious honorary award from the NSUK Professors’ Forum in recognition of her outstanding commitment to academic excellence and transformative leadership.

Speaking after receiving the award, Professor Liman expressed profound appreciation for the recognition, describing it as both humbling and inspiring. She commended the Forum for fostering teamwork, collaboration, mentorship, and sustained institutional excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed her support for the Forum’s ideals and prayed for continued unity, impact, and progress in its mission.

Earlier, the National Convener of the Nasarawa State Professors’ Forum, Professor Abdullahi Danasabe Jibrin, explained that the Forum’s decision to honor the Vice-Chancellor was informed by the remarkable academic and developmental achievements recorded under her administration.

He noted that Professor Liman’s visionary leadership, commitment to excellence, and impactful initiatives had significantly transformed the university environment and advanced its institutional objectives.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the Forum, the NSUK Chapter Convener, Professor Abdullahi Adamu Sulaiman, expressed gratitude for the successful event and commended the Vice-Chancellor for her tireless efforts and commitment to the university’s progress. He also appreciated principal officers and members of the delegation for their support and dedication.

The highlight of the event was the formal presentation of the honorary award by the delegation, followed by the presentation of gift items by the Vice-Chancellor to the Professors’ Forum Secretariat as a token of appreciation.
