Nasarawa State University Celebrates World Wildlife Day with Academic Excursion

The Department of Environmental Management at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, marked World Wildlife Day 2025 with an educational excursion to the National Children's Park and Zoo in Abuja. The event, held on March 3, aimed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and protection among students .
Led by the Head of Department, Dr. Alkali Muhammadu, 35 students and three lecturers participated in a guided tour and interactive sessions with park rangers and conservation experts. The excursion provided hands-on learning experiences, broadening students' understanding of human-wildlife interactions.
Dr. Salamatu Abraham Ekpo emphasized the significance of World Wildlife Day, stating that it serves as a reminder of our responsibility to protect and preserve the natural world. Students expressed appreciation for the experience, with Oloshu Mohammed, a 500-level student, noting that the excursion had broadened his understanding of the complex relationships between humans and wildlife.
