Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Receives Donation to Curb Motorcycle Theft

The Part-Time Students Union at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has taken a proactive step to address the recurring issue of motorcycle theft on campus. On September 27, 2024, the union donated over 4,000 motorcycle parking tallies and registration books to the university management.

Comrade Nazifi M. Maihakuri, President of the Part-Time Students Union, presented the items to Vice-Chancellor Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman. Maihakuri expressed concern about the high rate of motorcycle theft, which primarily affects part-time students. He praised the university security for recovering some stolen motorcycles, most of which belonged to part-time students.

The union's gesture aims to support the university management in curbing motorcycle theft by issuing parking tallies at strategic locations. Maihakuri also announced that the union has offered scholarships to underprivileged members to help them continue their studies despite economic challenges.

Professor Liman commended the union's thoughtful initiative, emphasizing that security is everyone's responsibility. She encouraged students to refrain from unnecessary protests and disturbances that could impact their educational journey.
