Breaking: Gregory University Uturu's Medical Degree Meets UK General Medical Council's Criteria for Overseas Qualification
Gregory University Uturu's medical degree now meets the UK General Medical Council's standards, opening doors for graduates to pursue medical careers in the UK.
The Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) awarded by Gregory University Uturu's College of Medicine and Health Sciences has officially met the criteria set by the United Kingdom’s General Medical Council (GMC) for acceptable overseas qualifications.
This achievement was confirmed after a comprehensive assessment by the GMC, allowing graduates of the institution to apply for the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test and GMC registration without needing individual qualification assessment.
According to the GMC, this new status allows doctors from Gregory University to pursue medical practice in the UK, marking a significant milestone for the institution. The Provost of Gregory University Uturu College of Medicine, Prof. S.A.U. Offiah, also noted that this adds to the existing recognition by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the US and Canada, allowing graduates to sit for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
The university community expressed gratitude to the founder, Professor Gregory Ibe, and the staff for their efforts in achieving this remarkable success.
