Netizen Criticizes Condition of Uli Campus, Urges VC Prof. Kate Omenugha to Take Action
Augustine Okafor calls for urgent improvements at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University’s Uli Campus.
A concerned netizen, Augustine Okafor, has called attention to the deteriorating state of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Uli Campus, through a post on his Facebook page. Okafor tagged the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, urging immediate improvements in the campus's infrastructure.
In his post, Okafor noted that while Prof. Omenugha has made significant strides in transforming the Igbariam Campus, the Uli Campus has not received similar attention. He lamented that the entrance to the campus is in need of renovation and described the current state of the Uli campus as comparable to a "glorified secondary school."
He further expressed concerns about the lack of basic amenities, particularly the absence of a steady electricity supply, which he believes hampers academic productivity and student excellence. Okafor argued that the disorganized academic environment and lack of social life on campus make it difficult for students to network and enjoy their learning experience.
He concluded his post by stating, "Students of Uli Campus did not commit any crime. COOU Uli should be transformed. The campus is no longer conducive for teaching and learning."
The post has drawn attention to the disparity in infrastructure development between the university's campuses, with many students and stakeholders hoping for a swift response from the administration.
