The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, has extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings to the university community, marking Nigeria's 64th anniversary of freedom from colonial rule.

In her message, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, and Senate, Professor Lafiaji-Okuneye reflected on the sacrifices of Nigeria’s forefathers, acknowledging their relentless efforts in securing the nation's liberty. She urged staff and students to honor this legacy by cherishing Nigeria’s independence and working collectively towards building a brighter, more prosperous future.

"Independence Day is a time to reflect on our nation's journey and to recommit ourselves to the ideals that brought us together. Let us strive for unity, progress, and a society where every citizen can reach their full potential," the Vice Chancellor stated.

Professor Lafiaji-Okuneye also highlighted the upcoming accreditation exercise for the university, calling for the continued support, cooperation, and prayers of all stakeholders to achieve a successful outcome and move LASUED forward.
