“As Nigeria Employer’s representatives, we commend you and the Institution for maintaining top quality standard over the years, both in infrastructural development and quality of graduates. Most especially, we will like to attest to the quality of graduates produced by the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resources Management (formerly known as Department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management). Overtime, we have observed that graduates of the Department are holding top and sensitive positions both in the public and private sectors’ this further affirms the quality and resourcefulness of these graduates.
With the view of deepening the collaboration and partnership between the University and organised businesses, we look forward to future Project-Partnerships that will promote employability, entrepreneurship and skills development. Established in 1957, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) is the umbrella organization of employers in the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria. With over four thousand (4,000) direct and indirect member-companies and thirty-five (35) Sectoral Employers Federation, the Association provides a platform for government at all levels, to consult with private sector employers on socio-economic/labour/policy-related issues and vice versa.
The attestation by NECA is the latest in the litany of testimonies by local and international bodies, affirming the diligent commitment of successive managements of UNILAG towards grooming competent hands to meet the nation’s manpower needs over the decades.
It is a confirmation of the university’s desire to partner and work with willing organizations towards realizing the dream of building a 21st Century tertiary institution.
