NELFUND Reopens Student Loan Application Portal for Bayero University Kano Students

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has announced the reopening of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) application portal for all interested and eligible students of the institution.

According to a "Special Bulletin" issued on Friday, May 8, 2026, the portal is now live, providing a fresh window for students to access federal financial support for their academic pursuits.

The SUG-BUK leadership, under President Abdulmudallib Kalli Sheriff, informed the student body that the application window is temporary and will officially close on May 29, 2026.

The union’s Public Relations Officer, Comr. Inyasi Hamza, urged students to prioritize their applications to ensure they are completed well before the closing date.

This reopening is seen as a vital opportunity for students who may have missed previous registration cycles to secure funding for tuition and upkeep. The SUG remains committed to facilitating access to national educational resources to ease the financial burden on the BUK student community.
