New Keffi Police Commandant Pledges Enhanced Security at Nasarawa State University

The newly appointed Police Area Commandant of Keffi Local Government Area, Assistant Commissioner of Police Desmond Oko, has pledged to enhance security surveillance at Nasarawa State University (NSUK) and its surrounding areas. He made this commitment during a courtesy visit to the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, on Wednesday, November 16, 2024.

During the visit, ACP Oko emphasized his goal of connecting with local institutions, particularly NSUK, which he recognized as a strategic partner. He reiterated the Nigerian Police Force's commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property within and around the university.

In response, Professor Liman expressed her gratitude for the visit and highlighted the strong, cooperative relationship between NSUK and the Nigerian Police Force, describing it as unprecedented. She called for increased collaboration, noting that the university's community consists largely of young, energetic individuals who may sometimes find themselves in potentially dangerous situations. The Vice-Chancellor prayed for the continued mutual support between the two institutions.
