NGO Awards Scholarships to 50 UNIBEN, AAU Students
The Agbonjague Leemon Ikpea Foundation has awarded scholarships to 50 students from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) and Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, with 21 scholarships for UNIBEN students and 29 for AAU students.
A non-governmental organization, Agbonjague Leemon Ikpea Foundation, has granted scholarships to 50 students from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) and Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma. The scholarships were announced by the foundation's Executive Director, Difference Irabor, on Monday.
According to Irabor, 21 of the scholarships are designated for indigent students from UNIBEN, while the remaining 29 will benefit students from AAU. He highlighted the foundation's commitment to supporting educational pursuits and enhancing the welfare of young Nigerians. Established by Leemon Ikpea, Chairman and Managing Director of Lee Engineering Group and Allied Companies Ltd, the foundation has consistently provided scholarships since the 2012/2013 academic session, assisting students from secondary to tertiary institutions nationwide.
The foundation aims to foster a brighter future for Nigerian youths regardless of ethnic or political affiliations. Irabor noted that the 2023/2024 annual scholarship covers tuition fees for the beneficiaries, based on their respective institutions' requirements.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, Idialu Marvelous and Longe Greatness acknowledged the positive impact of the scholarships, while parents and guardians also praised the foundation for its support.
