NGO Donates Books, Pays Tuition Fees for 10 Pupils in Lagos

The First British Charity Home Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO), on Monday donated books and paid the tuition fees of 10 pupils at Faith Reward International School, Ijesha, Lagos. The initiative, led by the NGO's founder, Evans Uchendu, aims to support underprivileged students by ensuring they continue their education.

Speaking during the donation, Mr. Uchendu emphasized that the ongoing economic hardship in Nigeria has made it difficult for many families to afford basic education for their children. He noted that many students are being sent home due to unpaid school fees, a situation the NGO is trying to mitigate.

"We decided to pay the school fees and other levies for 10 students to give them the opportunity to continue their education despite the challenges their families face," Mr. Uchendu stated. "I believe in securing the future of children through education, and this is one way of helping them become successful in life."

Mr. Uchendu added that education is a powerful tool for preventing crime, as individuals who are educated are less likely to engage in criminal activities. He encouraged the pupils to stay focused on their studies and work hard to achieve success.

Renowned actor Segun Arinze, who supported the NGO during the event, also addressed the students, advising them to remain diligent and avoid negative influences. "It's rare to find someone willing to take up the responsibility of paying your school fees in these tough times. When people say Nigeria is cursed, you should remind them that Nigeria is blessed, and you can succeed here," he said.

One of the beneficiaries’ parents, Olowoyo Fadekemi, expressed her gratitude for the financial assistance provided by the NGO. "I am so happy that they paid my daughter’s school fees, and I pray that God's glory will continue to shine on them," Mrs. Fadekemi said.

The First British Charity Home Foundation continues to support education initiatives across Nigeria, with a mission to create a brighter future for underprivileged children.
