NIAS Inducts 405 New Animal Scientists From 21 Universities At LAUTECH Ceremony
The Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), has inducted not fewer than four hundred and five (405) newly graduated Animal Scientists from across 21 Universities in Nigeria into the Institute.
The ceremony which held on Monday June 8, 2026, at “The Hall” Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, saw NIAS officials led by the Registrar, Professor Udo Herbert, coordinated the Induction Ceremony for the South-West Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria.
The Institute Registrar, Prof. Udo Herbert, admitted the graduates into the Institute and charged them to be of good conduct and promote the discipline of Animal Science wherever they are found.

Preaching professionalism, he further expressed his profound appreciation to the Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Heads of Departments and Academic Staff of Universities where these inductees graduated for their invaluable contributions to the training and development of the graduates.
He also acknowledged their commitment in producing a generation of competent and enthusiastic Animal Scientists ready to contribute to national development.
In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Prof. Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Innovation), Prof. Dauda Araromi congratulated all the inductees on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of LAUTECH, on their remarkable achievement, acknowledging their qualification for induction into NIAS as clear testimonies to dedication, hard work and commitment to excellence.
Prof. Kalilu charged the inductees to uphold the highest standard of Professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct and to display knowledge and skill acquired towards addressing the challenges facing the livestock industry, improving food production, enhancing rural livelihoods, and contributing to national development.
