Niger State Governor Slashes University Registration Fees by 50 percent

The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved a 50% reduction in registration fees for students at Abdulkadir Kure University in Minna. This information was disclosed in a statement issued by the Pro-chancellor of the university, Prof Muhammed Yahaya-Kuta, on Friday in Minna, the state’s capital. Governor Mohammed Bago said the reduction is aimed at alleviating the current compounding financial hardships on students and parents.

The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved a 50% reduction in registraation fees for students at Abdulkadir Kure University in Minna. This decision is reportedly a measure to lessen the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on students and their parents. 

This information was disclosed in a statement issued by the Pro-chancellor of the university, Prof Muhammed Yahaya-Kuta, on Friday in Minna, the state’s capital."Governor Mohammed Bago said the reduction is aimed at alleviating the current compounding financial hardships on students and parents."

"Bago said that the move would also ameliorate the effect of the current economic hardship on students and their parents, following the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government."

"All students studying regular courses in the institution are to enjoy the total relief of a 50 per cent reduction in the registration fee in the ongoing 2023/2024 academic session," he stated.
