Oyindamola Adeniyi, a Nigerian student, has successfully obtained her medical degree from the University of York’s Hull York Medical School in the United Kingdom. Adeniyi was named the orator recent graduation ceremony, where she addressed an audience of over one thousand guests, including fellow graduates, their families, and academic staff.

Reflecting on her personal journey, Adeniyi shared her family's move to the UK two decades ago and how their belief in education significantly influenced her academic path. "I urge us to respect this map but avoid slipping into the routine," she advised her peers, encouraging them to make intentional choices despite life’s predictabilities.

Throughout her speech, Adeniyi spoke about the various challenges she faced over the past five years, including political instability and the global pandemic. She highlighted the importance of resilience and mental health, acknowledging the difficulties encountered by her peers.

“At Hull York Medical School, we’ve been taught that intentionality and resilience are essential to becoming good doctors,” Adeniyi remarked. Additionally, she encouraged them to view life as a series of opportunities to live fully and make the most of everyday moments.

The graduation ceremony was attended by notable figures including Abiodun Adeniyi, a professor at Baze University in Nigeria, as well as Adeniyi’s mother, Cleopatra Adeniyi, and her siblings, Doyinsola and Oyinkansola.
