NOUN Graduates 88 Entrepreneurs, VC Advocates Innovation and Resilience

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has graduated 88 students from its Certificate in Entrepreneurship Education (NEE) programme during the institution’s second graduation ceremony held at its headquarters in Abuja on November 21, 2024.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Isaac Butswat, highlighted the pivotal role of entrepreneurship education in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and innovation. He encouraged the graduates to utilize their newly acquired skills to create innovative solutions, generate employment, and drive economic growth.
“Your training here has equipped you with the tools to be exemplary entrepreneurs and ambassadors of this programme. Strive to create opportunities and impact society positively,” Peters stated.
In a lecture, Dr. Osazee Joshua Osamwegie, founder of La Plage Metaverse, urged the graduates to embrace resilience and adaptability. He emphasized the importance of networking and leveraging opportunities to showcase their products and services.
The Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies (DE&GS), Dr. Samuel Awolumate, commended the graduates for their perseverance. He reiterated NOUN’s commitment to equipping Nigerians with entrepreneurial skills, stating that the programme aims to build entrepreneurs capable of transforming communities.
The best-graduating student, Mr. Folami Olatunji Almaroof, expressed gratitude to NOUN for the practical skills imparted through the programme. “This programme has equipped us with the confidence and competence to turn ideas into impactful ventures,” he said.
