NYSC Plateau Coordinator Highlights Self-Sufficiency and Staff Collaboration

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Plateau, Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala, has expressed confidence in the scheme’s ability to achieve self-sufficiency. 

Mr. Yavala shared this belief during a general meeting with staff at the NYSC State Secretariat in Jos, in preparation for the 2024 Batch "C" Stream I Orientation Course. He emphasized that the NYSC has the necessary manpower to ensure the success of its programs and activities. He further revealed plans to establish a committee to recover NYSC properties and lands while acquiring new ones to promote the scheme’s return to agriculture.

The State Coordinator also stressed the importance of staff health, urging regular medical check-ups, proper hygiene practices, and maintaining a clean environment. He highlighted the need for synergy among staff in implementing the resolutions from the 2024 Annual Management Conference (AMC).

Mr. Yavala encouraged staff to continue building their capacities to better serve Corps Members. He also emphasized the importance of empathy and emotional intelligence when interacting with Corps Members and reminded staff to remain vigilant about security.

In a related development, Mr. Ahmadu Yakubu Danasabe, the Camp Director for the 2024 Batch "C" Stream I Orientation Course, called on all staff to work together efficiently and with diligence. He also introduced Mr. Peter Achigili as the Deputy Camp Director.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the success of the Orientation Exercise.
