According to the institute, the partnership represents a shared vision to create opportunities for young Nigerians to acquire marketable skills and build sustainable businesses within the furniture and interior design industry.
Participants in the programme will be exposed to the entire furniture production value chain, including raw material sourcing, product manufacturing, finishing, branding, marketing, and distribution.
As part of the collaboration, plans are underway to establish a medium-scale furniture workshop within the university, equipped with essential machines to support practical training while also reducing the institution’s cost of furniture procurement.
Under the agreement, students of the university will receive hands-on training in furniture making, interior product design, and business development, equipping them with practical competencies needed to establish and manage successful enterprises after graduation.
The initiative forms part of the university’s broader commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-driven learning under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.
