NSUK Muslim Ummah Hosts 14th Annual Ramadan Symposium

The Muslim Ummah of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), recently held its 14th Annual Ramadan Symposium, themed "Empowering Muslim Youth: Lessons From The Month of Ramadan." The event took place at the university's 1000-seater auditorium.

 

Vice-Chancellor Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman emphasized the importance of adopting good moral practices and avoiding unethical behavior during the symposium. She urged the university community to come together, regardless of differences, to promote a positive and inclusive environment.

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, represented by Professor Mohammed Akaro Mainoma, commended the organizers and encouraged Muslim students to utilize the lessons of Ramadan to draw closer to God. He also advocated for improvements in the event's organization to promote unity and moral values among Muslim students.

 

Chairman of the NSUK Muslim Ummah, Professor Ibrahim Muhammad Haruna, stated that the program aimed to bring Muslims together during Ramadan and promote obedience to Allah's commands. Guest Lecturer Imam Abdullahi Ahmad Karshi emphasized the importance of adhering to moral lessons and believing in the six articles of faith to receive Allah's blessings.

Other speakers, including Ibrahim Moskolo and representatives of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and the Emir of Keffi, stressed the significance of Ramadan in providing leadership skills and inculcating good morals. They emphasized the need for Muslims to prioritize obedience to Allah's commands and the life hereafter.

 

The annual symposium is part of efforts to promote unity and ethical conduct among Muslim students during Ramadan. As noted in Islamic teachings, Ramadan is a holy month where Muslims strive to improve themselves and avoid wrongdoing .
