NSUK VC Prof Sa'adatu Hassan Liman Seeks Expanded Partnership with NEMA
Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman requests increased collaboration and support from NEMA during a visit to the agency's headquarters.
Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has called for increased partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). This request was made during her visit to NEMA’s headquarters in Abuja, where she met with NEMA’s Director-General, Zubaida Umar.
In her address, Professor Sa'adatu expressed gratitude for NEMA's previous support, including the donation of an Automatic Weather Station to the Department of Geography in 2022. She emphasized the need for further collaboration, including staff exchanges, joint research projects, and opportunities for students' Industrial Training (SIWES) placements.
Zubaida Umar congratulated Professor Sa'adatu on becoming the first female Vice-Chancellor of NSUK and praised the significant achievements of women in leadership roles. The Director-General assured that NEMA is committed to working closely with the university, particularly in the fields of risk and disaster management.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor were Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi, Registrar Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, University Librarian Dr. Aliyu Abdulkadir, Director of the Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change Professor Olumiyiwa James Jaiyeoba, Director of the Centre for Disaster and Risk Management Studies Dr. Adamu Tanko Ogah, and Senior Special Assistant Mallam Auwalu Suleiman.
The meeting highlighted the ongoing commitment of both NEMA and NSUK to enhance mutual cooperation for the benefit of both organizations.
