The Student Union Government (SUG) of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic has appealed to the Kaduna State Government to intervene in the ongoing school fees crisis affecting students at the institution.

In a letter addressed to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, the SUG President, Abdul Aziz, Salisu Galadima, highlighted the challenges faced by students in paying their school fees due to financial constraints. The letter stated that many students, particularly those from Kaduna State, are struggling to afford basic necessities such as food and educational materials.

The SUG requested permission for students to write their Fourth and Second Semester Examinations even if they have not yet completed their school fees. The letter emphasized that allowing students to sit for their examinations will prevent academic disruptions and ensure that their educational progress is not compromised.

The SUG also drew attention to the economic challenges facing the country and the need for compassionate consideration in this matter. The letter cited the Kaduna State University as an example of a similar situation where the government had shown understanding and support.

The appeal comes as the polytechnic prepares for its Fourth and Second Semester Examinations, scheduled to commence on May 13, 2024. Students and staff are anxiously awaiting a response from the state government, hoping for a swift resolution to the crisis.
