NYSC 2022 Batch C Stream II Orientation SAED Course In-camp Skills Training Closes (PHOTOS)
The State Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Abdulwahad has declared the 2022 Batch C Stream II Orientation Course Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development In-camp training closed. She praised the Corps Members for their conduct during the skills acquisition training and dedication to learning and development of new skills to expand their horizons.
She encouraged them to continue with the post camp training after the 3 weeks orientation to further develop their capabilities and thanked the trainers for their hard work in impacting the Corps Members with their knowledge.
The hall was active, bustling and filled with excitement as the contestants for the inter platoon skills competition for various skills was ongoing with participants busy knitting, sewing, doing make up and various other demonstrations of what they had learnt so far.
The Head of SAED, Mr. Aleshinloye Adeniyi in his welcome address urged the Corps Members to Key into the programmes and opportunities brought to them by NYSC to become not only self reliant but employers of labour and wealth creators.
He appreciated the trainers for their commitment and dedication to the training of the Corps Members in the State. He assured the Corps Members that the trainers will are available to train them in their desired skill regardless of their location in the State.
Thereafter, the SAED ambassadors were introduced to present the conclusion of their playlet which was begun at the SAED opening ceremony. The playlet showcased the values of skills acquisition and the dangers of depending on white collar employment.
The competition began in earnest with the representatives from each platoon for each competing skill coming out to display their work. For Food Processing, platoon 8 came 1st place with platoon 3 and 8 following as 2nd and 3rd. Models dressed elegantly in the clothes made by the representatives from Tailoring came out to display their skills with platoon 7 coming 1st with platoon 10 in 2nd place and platoon 1 in 3rd position. Platoon 10 took third in both Leather Works and Bead Making. In the lead for Leather Works was platoon 4 while platoon 2 took 2nd position. For Bead Making platoon 7 took 2nd and platoon 1 came in 1st.The order was reversed for the last category in which platoon 10 took 1st with 7 maintaining 2nd place and platoon 1 in third place.
To close off the event representatives from each skill, including those who did not participate in the competition came out to testify about their learning experiences in the SAED training and thanked NYSC, the SAED Branch and especially their Trainers for the opportunity to learn new skills and better equip themselves for the world they are to face after camp.
