NYSC Backs Digital Literacy For All Programme: General Ahmed Pledges Support

Brigadier General YD Ahmed, Director General of the NYSC, has pledged support for the Federal Government's Digital Literacy For All Programme. Speaking at the Flag-Off Ceremony at Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre in Minna, Niger State, General Ahmed highlighted the initiative’s goal to train 30 million Nigerians in digital skills by 2027.

General Ahmed emphasized the program's importance in advancing economic development and improving access to information. He assured that NYSC is committed to the project's success and acknowledged NITDA’s role in training Corps Members to become digital literacy champions.

NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, noted the program’s broad scope and the critical need for digital literacy in Nigeria. He outlined plans for Corps Members to train others, aiming to reach at least 60 Nigerians per month.

Minister of State for Youth Development, Mr. Olawande Ayodele, and Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, also supported the initiative, emphasizing its potential to boost economic growth and address environmental challenges.
