The Director Department of State Service, FB Bankole has commended the NYSC Scheme for its impact over the years. He noted that youths are the leaders of tomorrow however this large youth population had not been effectively maximised. He said that the NYSC Scheme is doing a great job in harnessing the value within these youths.

The Director Department of State Service, FB Bankole has commended the NYSC Scheme for its impact over the years. He noted that youths are the leaders of tomorrow however this large youth population had not been effectively maximised. He said that the NYSC Scheme is doing a great job in harnessing the value within these youths.

Myschoolnews reports he gave the commendation when the NYSC Osun State Coordinator paid a courtesy visit to his office in Osogbo today, 31st July.

Adding, he expressed desires for the Scheme to evolve to a wider scope where the entrepreneurship programme is better funded to become the major focal point. According to him if the service year is well maximised, Corps Members will have a better stead of being equipped with entrepreneurial skills. 

He also noted that though insecurity is a global phenomenon, Osun State when compared to other parts of the country sustains a relatively low insecurity index. He then counselled that Corps Members be security alert and be enlightened on how to detect fraudulent artifice.

 "We will continue to give you all the support needed " he promised.

Mr Agbor in his brief informed the Director and his management team on the 2023 Batch B Stream 1 closing ceremony scheduled to hold tomorrow. He appreciated the Director for the commitment of the Service to the Scheme in previous years. He also lauded the Service for its commitment towards the safety of Corps Members which among others has culminated in the delivery of security lectures by the Service to Corps Members during Orientation Course.

Agbor also noted that the visit was essential in further strengthening the cooperation between the Service and the NYSC Scheme. He remarked that the supply of security intelligence to the society and the Orientation camp is highly needed and very much appreciated.

The State Coordinator went on to present the Director some of the Scheme's publications also noting that the Scheme has stayed committed to its Skill Acquisition and Enterprenuership Developmemt programme (SAED) which was introduced in 2012.

Reiterating the Scheme's commitment to the welfare of Corps Members, he affirmed his believe that "this current level of insecurity can be surmounted".
