Starting at 11 am, heavy-duty trucks began arriving at the camp, delivering sand to address various spots where erosion had taken hold.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, expressed his excitement about the project during interactions with guests visiting the camp. He described the initiative as monumental, noting that improving the camp's infrastructure has been a key goal since he took office.
Mr. Onifade highlighted that this project became a reality through a valuable partnership with Kam Wire Company, one of the camp's neighbors. He emphasized that the successful management of the erosion problem represents the dawn of a new era for the Yikpata camp.
In his remarks, Mr. Onifade stated, "This project will open doors for more infrastructural development at the NYSC orientation camp and will translate to greater comfort for Corps members during their orientation programs."
The erosion control efforts signal a commitment to enhancing the camp environment, ensuring a more comfortable and conducive experience for future Corps members.
