Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Tuesday, Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration's commitment to enhancing infrastructure across the state’s educational institutions. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to reposition higher education in Ekiti State through increased investment, in line with the state government's agenda to promote Education and Technology. The Governor emphasized the importance of providing conducive learning environments by investing in physical infrastructure across state-owned institutions.
Governor Oyebanji lauded Arch. Dipo Ajayi for his dedication to the state’s development, despite various challenges encountered during the project. He acknowledged that the journey to complete the hostel was fraught with delays and rising construction costs but commended Ajayi's determination to see the project through.
"The challenges we faced were significant, and at times it seemed unlikely that any investor would commit to this project. However, you remained steadfast, believing in Ekiti and its people. While this investment may not be financially profitable, it is invaluable to Ekiti. God bless you for your commitment," the Governor said.
Oyebanji noted that the project symbolizes the strength of unity and the progress that can be achieved when stakeholders are aligned with a shared vision. He urged Ajayi to extend his contributions to other institutions in Ekiti, including Ekiti State University (EKSU) and Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).
The Governor assured that the state government has streamlined the processes for project approvals to ensure quicker implementation. He also urged students to take ownership of the newly commissioned hostel, maintain the facilities, and avoid vandalism.
In his address, Arch. Dipo Ajayi, who also chairs Bver Hostels and Suites, called for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders to foster the state's development. He expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives that would enhance education in Ekiti.
Governor Oyebanji extended his appreciation to traditional rulers for their continuous support over the past two years, promising further developmental efforts in the years ahead. "As your servant in government, I pledge to serve with all my strength, and together, we will ensure Ekiti is known for peace, progress, and development," he concluded.
