Traditional rulers from the Nasarawa West Senatorial District, led by the Deputy Chairman of the Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Usman Yamusa III, have expressed strong support for the newly established Phoenix University. During an assessment visit, the monarchs lauded the institution’s progress and facilities.

Among the notable traditional rulers present were Dr. Shehu Yamusa III, Alhaji Ibrahim Jubrin, Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba, and Barrister Joel Aninge, all first-class chiefs, who voiced their confidence in the university's potential. They recognized the institution’s proprietor, Distinguished Senator Abdullahi Adamu, for his commitment to advancing education in Nasarawa State.

In his remarks, the Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Yamusa III, praised Senator Adamu's role in establishing Phoenix University, comparing it to Afe Babalola University in terms of quality and vision. “I am not surprised that the person who founded Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has now established Phoenix University. From my experience as a former university lecturer, Phoenix University is second to none,” he stated.

Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba, the Esu Karu, echoed similar sentiments, particularly applauding the university's state-of-the-art facilities. He emphasized the significance of the Robotic Laboratory in positioning the university at the forefront of technological advancements. “What we have seen is truly remarkable, especially the Robotic Lab, which will play a crucial role in driving innovation in Information Technology,” he said.

Responding to the monarchs, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, also the former National Chairman of the APC, expressed his gratitude for their support and blessings. He highlighted that his vision for the university was rooted in giving back to society, focusing on enhancing education in the state and the nation.

The Vice Chancellor of Phoenix University, Professor Abdullahi Bala, assured the visiting monarchs that the institution is fully prepared to begin academic activities by the end of February. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has completed its resource verification, paving the way for the launch of at least 24 academic programs.
