Police Arrest Two Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Students for Theft and Housebreaking

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two students from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, for alleged criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, and theft. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the police acted on intelligence received from an anonymous source, alerting the Yelwa Divisional Police Headquarters about a group of students involved in assaulting two of their peers.
The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Bamusa Bako, a 400-level Urban and Regional Planning student, and 28-year-old Yusuf Umar, also known as Danfari, a 500-level student of Industrial Design, were accused of breaking into the residence of Raji Rabi’u, a 400-level Estate Management student. The stolen items included a 32-inch Hisense TV, a DSTV decoder, a woofer, a speaker, a pair of shoes, a blanket, and a prayer mat.
The police statement confirmed that the suspects, currently under investigation, have confessed to the crime. They revealed that the stolen items were intended to fund their final-year project defense.
Further investigations are ongoing as authorities work to recover the stolen goods.
