Police Rescue Two Abducted Gusau Varsity Students and Staffer

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Police has successfully rescued two students of Federal University Gusau and a staff member who were abducted during a bandit attack on a student-rented house in the outskirts of Sabon Garin Damba in Gusau metropolis. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

The latest rescue operation was disclosed in an official statement by the Command's spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, and made available to media on Sunday.

According to the statement, the armed men, suspected to be bandits and armed with dangerous weapons, stormed the student residence on the evening of October 14, 2023, abducting two students and one staff member of Federal University Gusau.
Upon receiving the information, the police mobilized a striking force for a search and rescue operation, which resulted in the safe recovery of all the victims.The statement indicates that the operation to apprehend the fleeing abductors is ongoing.

CP Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, the leader of the Zamfara State Police Command, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to safeguarding lives and property, as well as providing a secure environment for learning within the state.
The Command has urged the residents of Zamfara State to cooperate by providing credible and timely information on criminal activities to help combat crime and maintain the safety of the state.
