POLY IBADAN: Mass Communication Alumni Set to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with Special Projects and Reunion Activities
Mass Communication Alumni in the Ibadan Polytechnic is set to celebrate their 20th anniversary with special projects and reunion activities.
Alumni of the Mass Communication department from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, belonging to the Ascom Class of Presidents (Ascom CoP) 1998/2004 set, have announced plans to commemorate their 20th anniversary reunion with impactful initiatives and celebratory events.

The highlight of the anniversary celebrations includes the inauguration of a solar-powered system for their alma mater's Mass Communication department. This initiative aims to enhance sustainable energy solutions and support educational facilities at The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
In a statement issued by Yekeen Akinwale, head of the anniversary media committee, Tunde Muraina, chairman of the central working committee (CWC), expressed the group's commitment to giving back to their alma mater. Muraina noted that a similar solar-powered system will also be installed at the Mass Communication department of The Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa. This institution, formerly a satellite campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, holds significant importance to the alumni as it was where they completed their National Diploma (ND) programme.

Muraina further elaborated that the CWC has structured a comprehensive lineup of activities to celebrate two decades of camaraderie and educational legacy. The activities which began in March, would conclude in August, with a grand finale and inauguration of a new executive team.
