The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced its readiness to convene the 2024 policy meeting on admissions into tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Scheduled to be chaired by the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, the meeting will gather key stakeholders from the education sector to deliberate on crucial matters pertaining to admissions for the upcoming academic session.

According to JAMB, the policy meeting, would play a significant role in formulating admission guidelines, evaluating candidates' performance, and setting the minimum standards for admissions into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions nationwide.

Expected to be in attendance are heads of regulatory bodies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the National Council for Colleges of Education (NCCE). Additionally, representatives from various tertiary institutions across the country and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will also participate, among others.

In a statement, JAMB highlighted, "The policy meeting on admissions sets the tone for any particular year’s admission exercise, as well as the formulation of admission guidelines."
