JAMB Warns Candidates About Fake SMS Alerts

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a warning to 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates about fraudulent SMS messages claiming that their exam records are under review due to alleged malpractice.

The fake messages, which mimic official JAMB alerts, aim to extort money from candidates who previously subscribed to "runz" or expo platforms. JAMB has assured candidates that these messages are not from the board and has alerted security agencies to investigate.

Candidates are advised to ignore suspicious messages, avoid contacting unofficial numbers, and not make payments to individuals claiming to "clear" their names. JAMB urges candidates to rely on official updates from its website  or shortcodes (55019/66019).
