Engr Julius Mmelikam Chukwuemeka, Commissioner for Power and Water Resources in Anambra State, has encouraged students at the International Conference of the Department of History and International Studies, held at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus. Addressing the eager audience, the commissioner dismissed the notion that education is a scam, a belief he attributed to misguided elements in society.

"Some people have resorted to pursuing money by all means because they now think that education is a scam," Commissioner Chukwuemeka declared. "But I can tell you as a living example that education is not a scam. Work hard, go beyond the ordinary to extraordinary, and by the grace of God, you will succeed and become the cynosure of all eyes in the society."

The commissioner, himself an alumnus of the university, spoke passionately about the transformative power of education. He urged students to uphold the values of diligence and perseverance, emphasizing that these qualities are crucial for achieving success in life.

He awarded N50,000 cash prizes to four students who demonstrated outstanding knowledge during the interactive session. Additionally, he granted one lucky student a full session's school fees, further encouraging academic excellence among the attendees.
