In a ceremony of significant cultural and academic resonance held today, Monday, December 29, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University (RSU), Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, was conferred with the revered traditional title of “Eze Obutor I of Ancient Ahoada Kingdom.”

The honour was bestowed by His Royal Majesty, King Noble Friday Uwoh, the Paramount Ruler of the Ancient Ahoada Kingdom.

Speaking during the conferment ceremony, King Uwoh highlighted that the recognition was in acknowledgment of Prof. Zeb-Obipi’s stellar contributions to educational development in the region. Specifically, the monarch cited the positive socio-economic impact on the host community following the strategic establishment of the University’s satellite campus in the Ahoada area.
