The NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Bayelsa State hosted its second steering committee meeting for the 2024 Batch "B" Stream II orientation course, where Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, the State Coordinator, emphasized the importance of sustaining the implementation of orientation course policy guidelines to ensure a successful conclusion.

In her address, Mrs. Charity commended the collaboration and teamwork among camp officials and urged them to maintain their dedication, particularly concerning security matters. She issued a stern warning against any form of extortion of corps members for postings and directed committee members to address these issues promptly within their teams.

Mrs. Charity also shared positive feedback from visitors, who praised the camp's cleanliness and the commendable behavior of both corps members and camp officials. She encouraged everyone to uphold these standards until the end of the orientation course.

The Camp Director, Alhaji Muhammad Lawan Ahmed, acknowledged the efforts of the heads of collaborating agencies and assignments for their adherence to orientation course policies. He urged them to continue their collaborative efforts to ensure the success of the orientation course in the state.

Resident Officer Mr. Faruk Ishak expressed gratitude to the heads of collaborating agencies for their seamless execution of duties, which contributed to a smooth second week of orientation activities. He highlighted the quality of food, electricity, and water supply at the camp as areas of particular satisfaction.

Camp Commandant Capt. A.O. Idris praised the effective synergy among security agencies at the camp. He assured that the security personnel would continue to enforce discipline and ensure punctuality among corps members for all camp activities.

During the meeting, heads of collaborating agencies and assignments provided their situation reports, and various matters arising were addressed. The collaborative efforts and commitment to the orientation course policies were reaffirmed as critical to the ongoing success of the NYSC program in Bayelsa State.
