Winners of AccessPreneurship Competition Announced at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Bayelsa State

The NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Bayelsa State buzzed with excitement as the winners of the AccessPreneurship Competition were revealed for the 2024 Batch "B" Stream II orientation course. The competition, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial spirit among corps members, concluded with a ceremony recognizing the most innovative and viable business ideas.

The competition required participants to submit detailed business proposals and defend their ideas before a panel of judges. The judges carefully evaluated each proposal based on creativity, feasibility, and potential impact.

Mr. Chukwuma Okereke, representing Access Bank PLC, Yenagoa, highlighted that the competition was part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts. “Our goal is to promote creativity and provide financial support to corps members who aspire to start their own businesses during and after their service year,” Mr. Okereke said.

In her remarks, Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, the State Coordinator, congratulated the winners for their initiative and courage in developing and defending their business ideas. She urged them to use the awarded funds wisely to realize their entrepreneurial dreams. “I am proud of your achievements and encourage you to judiciously apply these funds towards your business ventures,” Mrs. Charity stated.

Mrs. Charity also expressed gratitude to Access Bank for their financial support, which she said was instrumental in helping corps members advance their business aspirations.

The prizes awarded were as follows:

  • Overall Winner: 1 Million Naira
  • 2nd Place: 700,000 Naira
  • 3rd Place: 500,000 Naira
  • 4th Place: 450,000 Naira
  • 5th Place: 250,000 Naira
  • 6th Place: 150,000 Naira

Additionally, five other participants received consolation prizes of 100,000 Naira each for their commendable efforts in the competition.

The AccessPreneurship Competition not only provided financial backing but also encouraged corps members to pursue their business ideas with determination and creativity. The event underscored the importance of entrepreneurship in fostering economic growth and self-reliance among the youth.
