A 46-year-old teacher, Panford Mweeta, allegedly committed suicide while leaving a note on how his money should be shared. The deceased however, who was still able to talk while receiving treatment, revealed that he had intentionally taken the poisonous liquid to end his life.

A 46-year-old teacher, Panford Mweeta, allegedly committed suicide while leaving a note on how his money should be shared.

He reportedly died on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

According to reports, Mweeta, who was recently transferred from Nsanjika Day Secondary School to Maguya Day Secondary School, took an unknown poisonous substance, which ultimately led to his demise.

 The deceased also left behind a written note, which revealed his feelings of despair and hopelessness. "I had been working very hard but had nothing to show what I had achieved," the note read, further outlining how his money should be shared among his loved ones.

Rushed to Katandala clinic for treatment, Mweeta was later referred to another hospital, where he was admitted. The deceased however, who was still able to talk while receiving treatment, revealed that he had intentionally taken the poisonous liquid to end his life. Sadly, he passed away on the same day.

Eastern Province Police Deputy Commanding Officer, Stephen Mayoko, confirmed the incident to the media on Friday, July 5, stating that Mweeta had told his wife he was going into Chipata town, but was later found unconscious around 10pm.
