NUC Concludes Accreditation Exercise at Sa’adu Zungur University
Sa’adu Zungur University in Gadau recently hosted the 2024 Programme Accreditation Exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The process, which began on November 21, 2024, involved 21 experts from seven teams evaluating 17 academic programmes for accreditation.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has successfully concluded its 2024 Programme Accreditation Exercise at Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau. The exercise, which began on November 21, 2024, saw a delegation of 21 experts across seven teams evaluate 17 academic programmes for accreditation.
The Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, Professor Fatimah Tahir, warmly received the NUC delegation at the main campus in Gadau. She expressed the university’s dedication to academic excellence and thanked the Commission for its continued efforts to uphold quality education standards across Nigerian universities and affiliate institutions.
Among the programmes assessed in the Faculty of Science were:
- Botany
- Mathematics
- Microbiology
- Physics
- Science Laboratory Technology
- Zoology
- Chemistry
The comprehensive accreditation exercise extended beyond the Faculty of Science, encompassing programmes from other faculties to ensure compliance with NUC standards.
Professor Tahir commended the NUC’s methodical approach and reiterated the university's commitment to addressing any recommendations to enhance academic offerings. She emphasized that the accreditation process reflects the institution's ongoing efforts to provide high-quality education and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's higher education landscape.
