The election of internal members to the 10th Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, commenced on September 18, 2024, with the selection of four Senate Representatives during the 226th Senate Meeting.

The meeting was presided over by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi, and supervised by Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Peter Agbonome, alongside Acting Registrar, Rev. Samuel Ufoh.

The newly elected Senate Representatives are:

  1. Prof. Pius V.C. Okoye (Department of Accountancy, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences) – 152 votes
  2. Rev. Fr. Prof. Ken Oraegbunam (International Law and Jurisprudence, Faculty of Law) – 119 votes
  3. Prof. Tracie Utoh-Ezeajugh (Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Faculty of Arts) – 115 votes
  4. Prof. Igwebuike Onyiorah (Department of Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Basic Clinical Medicine) – 111 votes.
