Skyline University Nigeria partners with Global Shapers Community Kano for a clothing drive
The Department of Political Science at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has partnered with Global Shapers Community Kano for a clothing drive community initiative.

The event was conducted at the premises of the university on May 25th 202024.
Delivering his remarks, Mr. Farid Illo, the Head of the Department of Political Science at SUN, said that the initiative was done as part of community service activities that the university does. He said the Global Shapers Community Kano was specially selected for the collaboration, because of its groundbreaking record of supporting young people to provide sustainable change in communities around the world.

He said SUN envisions a Nigeria where youth are equipped with the right knowledge to facilitate sustainable development and this is why the clothing drive included all the students and even staff of the university. He then thanked the management of SUN for its continuous support towards community development initiatives and the Global Shapers Community Kano, for its dedication.
On his part, Mr. Adam Abubakar Ishaq, the project lead for Global Shapers Community Kano, the clothing drive is an annual event organized by the hub to support orphans and less privileged families with necessities such as gently used clothes, toiletries, e.t.c. He said their community partnership with SUN is futuristic, hence, many collaborative initiatives will be done.
Mr. Ishaq applauded the management of SUN for its wonderful support of communities in education and other innovative activities.

SUN students and members of Global Shapers Community Kano had an interesting time networking with one another as they received donations – there were lots of games and creative activities like painting, and calligraphy, among others done during the event.
