The university's management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, warmly welcomed the evaluation team, which included representatives from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Bank of Industry (BOI), and other stakeholders.
Dr. Ahmad Baba, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) Academic, emphasized that the iDICE program aligns with the university's vision of promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment. He highlighted TSU's commitment to leveraging the three key components of iDICE:
- Skill and Enterprise Development: Equipping students with technological and creative skills to foster innovation and support startups and SMEs.
- Access to Financing: Providing students with access to financing options to support their entrepreneurial ventures.
- Enabling Environment: Creating an enabling environment that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.
The evaluation team was taken on a tour of the university's key resources, including the Skill Acquisition Center, Faculty of Engineering Workshop, E-Library, Audio-Visual Laboratory, Mass Communication Studios, Theatre Arts Arena, and ICT Centre.
Mr. Suleman Babayo, speaking on behalf of the evaluation team, commended the university management for their dedication to securing this partnership. He emphasized that TSU is the first institution in Nigeria to secure this strategic partnership with iDICE.
