Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), located in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, has taken significant disciplinary actions against 78 students for various academic and behavioral infractions. The university’s Public Relations Office announced on Tuesday that 31 students have been expelled, while 47 others have been placed on indefinite suspension.

One of the most notable cases involves Ojo Michael, a second-year student in the Computer Science Department, who was expelled for the entire 2023/2024 academic year. Michael was found guilty of falsifying his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to fraudulently qualify for the Student Union elections. This decision was made during a university Senate meeting on July 31, 2024.

In addition to Michael, 17 students were expelled for examination malpractice, five for issuing threats, and one for fraudulent activities. These sanctions were imposed following thorough investigations by the university’s Examination Malpractice and Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

The university emphasized its commitment to upholding academic discipline and integrity, instructing the affected students to remain off-campus to avoid potential confrontations with security personnel.

Furthermore, 47 students were suspended indefinitely for various offenses, including impersonation. The university reiterated that students guilty of misconduct would face strict consequences, in line with its dedication to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and discipline.
