A high-powered delegation from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Abuja, visited the University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa, on Tuesday, September 7, 2025, for an intervention enlistment assessment. This visit is a crucial step toward the young University securing TETFund support.

The delegation was led by the TETFund Chief Planning Officer, Mrs. Abigail Egbe.

Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick N. Asuquo, expressed profound elation over their timely visit and fervent commitment to the growth of tertiary education in Nigeria.

 * He described the assessment as a pivotal step that would open new avenues for infrastructural and academic advancement at UEE.

 * Prof. Asuquo recalled the numerous TETFund-supported projects accessed by the former College of Education, Akamkpa.

 * He commended TETFund for its sustained impact, noting that the agency’s interventions have been instrumental in transforming learning environments.

 * The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the University's vision is to nurture a new generation of educators, innovators, and leaders with a deep passion for teaching and an entrepreneurial drive.

 * He added that TETFund’s continued partnership and support remain "not only vital but indispensable" to the University's growth and future.

In response, Team Leader Mrs. Abigail Egbe thanked the University's management for the warm reception and praised the institution’s organizational readiness.

 * She noted that the purpose of the visit was to conduct an on-site verification of the University’s Faculties and administrative structures to determine its eligibility for TETFund enlistment.

 * Mrs. Egbe assured that the visit goes beyond inspection and represents partnership and progress.

 * She confirmed the goal is to assess, guide, and strengthen the University, as well as ascertain its level of preparedness to meet the necessary benchmarks for accessing TETFund interventions as a newly established University.

 * She affirmed that TETFund remains fully committed to supporting the institution’s aspirations.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the University’s Faculties and facilities, followed by a group photograph and an exit briefing session. Key members of the UEE management team present included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Dr. Benedict Ugbong; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Dr. (Mrs.) Patience O. Ebam; and the Registrar, Amb. Dr. Gabriel Egbe, among others.
