Newgate University Minna (NUM) recently hosted a team from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) for a comprehensive resource verification exercise at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The visit is a crucial step in ensuring the University's curriculum and facilities meet professional standards for training medical laboratory scientists.

The verification team was led by Professor Surajudeen A. Junaid of the Federal University Lafia, Nasarawa State, and included Dr. Abdulrahman El-Fulaty and Ms. Eneh Anulika Lilian, the Council Secretary.

The team inspected various academic and clinical training facilities to assess the program's readiness.

 * Campus Facilities: The team reviewed the laboratories and classroom areas.

 * Affiliated Teaching Hospitals: The team inspected the affiliated teaching hospitals, which serve as clinical training centers for NUM students, including:

   * FMC Bida

   * IBB Specialist Hospital

In his welcome remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Sadiq Yusuf reaffirmed the University’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class education and training for its students.

During the exit meeting, Professor Junaid commended the University for its hospitality and highlighted several areas of excellence:

 * Well-equipped laboratories with updated instruments.

 * Modern lecture halls fitted with smart boards and alternative electricity supply.

 * A robust curriculum designed to meet professional standards.

 * Comprehensive Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with hospitals, ensuring quality clinical exposure for students.

The MLSCN team concluded by applauding the University’s commitment to excellence and encouraged continued advancement in line with global best practices. NUM stated its dedication to nurturing competent health professionals who will shape the future of medical science in Nigeria and beyond.
